Knitted & Crochet Crafts
Delivered Since April 2011
In high school I needed to come up with a Leadership Project for NHS. I learned how to knit and crochet a few months before my project was due. I named the project Knit Love Into It starting with one goal: to make 100 knitted/crochet hats by March 25 2011 for UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center patients. I was able to donate 121 hats and a $500 cashier check to the center. Overjoyed with all the support I received I decided to make Knit Love Into It a non-profit organization.

Happy 2012!
We begin the year 2012 with the faith, that with each new day, we are closer to a cure to cancer.
We have served and will continue to do so, UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Miami Children's, Holtz Children Hospital, Baptist Hospital, SafeSpace, United HomeCare and La Liga Contra el Cancer. All donations go directly to the patients free of any charges, individually packed and secured in poly bags.
I want to share with you, that the medical staff, the patients and their families received these crafts with joy and appreciation. They express how they are embraced with compassion and love as they unpack the hats and send their appreciation to everyone that became a part of it.
During our visits to the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and La Liga Contra el Cancer, we had noticed that patients while having their chemotherapy treatments they would be feeling very cold. One of our vivid volunteers Mrs. Olga Fanjul, knitted a pair of slippers to a cancer patient, who then has expressed great comfort during her treatment after wearing the slippers. She has requested if we can do this for other patients as one of our goals, and so we have. Look under “projects” to see a slipper pattern donated by Mrs. Fanjul.
We will continue to collect the heart theme squares for the Saint Valentine’s Day blankets to be delivered to Holtz Children Hospital. Please send yours by February 10, 2012, so your square can be included.
We encourage you to join us in delivering comfort to medical patients.
